We feel we need to recommend our vet as we had so much trouble finding a suitable vet for our two lovely dogs, after much searching and trying of vets we recommend Karen Isensee of TUFFY VET, based in Sertã, Karen is excellent, she offers the most up to date and efficient service you'll find in this area of Portugal, her equipment is the absolute best you can get, and in this area... you wont find others!
Such as...
Clinical equipment from Germany and the US such as state of the Art IDEXX analysis machines for all types of blood and urine analysis, radiography, ultrasonography, microscopy, ECG, she has the ONLY gas anaesthesia in the area of Figueiró, Sertã and Pedrogão Grande which provides the best chance for your dog in anaesthesia (especially in weak, sick or old animals).
She has Accreditation as a Clinic from the 'Ordem of Medicos Veterinarios de Portugal´ starting in March 2007). Not only did she study at Davis (University of California) the best there is, she graduated in the top 5% for the whole of the US!!! (She had a 3.7 average out of 4 ). She acts in Consultation with other veterinary specialists in areas such as orthopedics, opthalmology etc. And also acts as a reference clinic for other veterinarians in the greater area of Sertã.
So as you can see, we've really done our homework when it comes to veterinary care for our dogs. You'll also find that the prices are good too, compared to what we paid in the UK , Karen is much cheaper...
